Bandits have reportedly released Kabiru, the son of the murdered district head of Gobir, in Sokoto State, Muhammad Bawa-Isa, after payment of N60 million and five motorcycles as ransom.

DAILY NIGERIAN reports that Mr Kabiru was abducted alongside his father in July while travelling from Sokoto to his hometown, Sabon Birni.

But the monarch was executed on Tuesday after failing to meet the deadline for the payment of ransom.
