Earlier in the month, Kingsley had drawn attention to Amaechi’s deteriorating health by posting a video on Instagram where the actor struggled to speak due to his illness. The situation was further highlighted when Tony ‘Oneweek’ Muonagor, a singer and cousin of the late actor, posted a candle on Facebook as a symbol of mourning.
It was reported by PREMIUM TIMES on March 19th that Amaechi Muonagor had reached out to Nigerians and philanthropists for financial assistance to undergo a kidney transplant in India. His health struggles started in November 2023 when he suffered a stroke and turned to his fans and fellow Nigerians for support.
Diagnosed with kidney disease, diabetes, and stroke in December of the same year, Amaechi Muonagor’s health deteriorated rapidly. The Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) stepped in to seek financial aid for the actor during this challenging time. AGN’s National President, Emeka Rollas, confirmed that the guild had approved funds from their trust to assist Amaechi.
