The National Environment Management Authority (NEMA) has issued a 30-day ultimatum notice for all wetland encroachers to voluntarily vacate or be forced out.
The Monday directive brings a sigh of relief among dozens who had been under tension days after the conservationist embarked on a forceful eviction drive, bringing down several structures said to be within the Lubigi wetland area.
The body says it had reached a consensus with the leadership of Kampala Capital City, which reportedly agreed to sensitise the affected communities.
