Namibia: Zambezi floods, locust outbreaks fuel hunger – News

The government will have to bear the burden of feeding residents of the flood- and locust outbreak-affected Zambezi region until the next harvesting season.

This was said by minister of urban and rural development James Sankwasa.

Annual floods, flash floods and locust outbreaks currently experienced in the Zambezi region have wiped out thousands of hectares of crop fields in the region, resulting in families facing starvation as they are left with nothing to harvest.
