The Swapo Party has secured four seats on the Swakopmund local authority after receiving 6 531 votes, gaining one additional seat compared to the previous council.

The results, marking the final announcement of the local authority elections, were released on Saturday by Electoral Commission of Namibia chairperson Elsie Nghikembua.

The Independent Patriots for Change failed to retain its previous three seats, securing only two after receiving 3 545 votes.
