Preliminary election results indicate that the Swapo Party has secured eight seats on the Windhoek municipal council, an improvement from the five seats it held in the previous council.

The Independent Patriots for Change, which previously held four seats, managed to retain only three following Wednesday’s elections.

The Affirmative Repositioning and the Landless People’s Movement, which each held two seats, retained one seat each.
