Several members of parliament have opposed a presidential directive for politicians and senior public servants to use state health facilities.
The national health reform, which took effect on 1 April, requires senior public servants to use designated public healthcare facilities instead of private facilities.
President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah issued the order in the same month to strengthen the public health system, which serves more than 85% of Namibians.
