The Namibian Police reported that 143 rape cases were registered in the Oshikoto region in 2024, a drop from 149 cases the previous year. Police regional crime investigations coordinator deputy commissioner Titus Ekandjo says the suspects’ age ranged from nine to 63 years old in 2024 and 10 to 73 years old in 2023.
He adds that 106 of those arrested were Namibian, while 37 were Angolan men.
