The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) arrested 19 people countrywide in corruption-related cases in November.
The accused range from government officials, local authority councillors and council employees.
Investigations into these cases date as far back as 2015.
Lawyer Kadhila Amoomo on Sunday explained that a person can still be prosecuted after five years, with a cut-off time set at 20 years.
