Namibia: Namibia welcomes 161 babies on New Year’s Day – Election 2024

In a touching start to the new year, Namibia welcomed 161 newborns on New Year’s Day.

The figure marked a slight decrease compared to 2024, when 162 babies were born on the same day.

The Ohangwena region once again recorded the highest number of new year’s births, with 35 babies.

Walters Kamaya, spokesperson of the Ministry of Health and Social Services, said of the 161 babies born, 90 were girls and 71 were boys.
