The Namibia Media Professionals Union (Nampu) has condemned the suspension of Namibia Broadcasting Corporation (NBC) executive editor and journalist Anna Nicodemus, calling it a direct attack on press freedom.

This was said by the union’s acting secretary general, Jemima Beukes, in a statement released on Friday.

“This unjustified suspension represents a direct attack on press freedom and undermines the independence of journalists in Namibia,” Beukes said.
