Namibia: Lüderitz mock oil-spill drill tests Debmarine Namibia and seabird rescuers’ readiness – Africa Links 24

Several organisations took part in a mock oil-spill drill at Lüderitz Harbour on Saturday to test how teams would respond to a real marine pollution incident.

During the drill the Namibian Foundation for the Conservation of Seabirds team “rescued” African penguins, Cape gannets and lesser flamingos to simulate the impact of an oil spill on coastal wildlife.
