A tragic incident occurred in Okombahe, Dâures constituency, where a woman in her mid-thirties and a mother of six children was allegedly killed by her partner on a Saturday. The Erongo police reported that the man reportedly used a brick or stone to strike Beverly /Nanus on the head. This heartbreaking incident took place at /Nanus’ mother’s house, where the couple resided.

According to sources, neighbors found /Nanus’ boyfriend cleaning up blood at the scene before fleeing. There were reports indicating that the couple had a history of domestic violence, with /Nanus having withdrawn a previous case against the suspect just a few weeks prior to the incident. The couple shared a three-year-old child together, adding to the tragic nature of the situation.

Chief Inspector Ileni Shapumba stated, “Our investigation teams are seized with the matter,” emphasizing the seriousness of the case. The next of kin of /Nanus have been notified of her untimely death, further adding to the devastation of the situation.

Sadly, this incident follows another similar tragedy that occurred in Windhoek, where another woman named Helen Onesmus was allegedly killed by her husband, leading to her funeral in Lüderitz on Saturday.
