A brown hyena captured on a Namibian farm has been collared and released by the Naankuse Foundation’s Rapid Response Unit, marking a success in ongoing efforts to promote human-wildlife coexistence.
This according to a recent post by the foundation following reports from a concerned farmer experiencing livestock losses due to a brown hyena.
Rather than resort to lethal methods, the farmer opted to humanely capture the hyena in a cage trap.
