The government has discouraged Namibians from disrespectful, large gatherings in light of the mourning period for late founding president Sam Nujoma.

The mourning period started on Monday, 10 February.

Deputy minister of information and communication technology Modestus Amutse announced this in a press statement issued Monday evening.
