The Forum of German-Speaking Namibians says founding president Sam Nujoma ensured the protection of their mother tongue.

In a statement issued by chairperson Harald Hecht yesterday, the forum paid tribute to Nujoma after his death on Saturday evening.

Hecht said freedom of speech and expression being entrenched in the Constitution “paved the way for peaceful cohabitation and the continued cultural diversity in our motherland”.
