The president Hage Geingob has been praised by the local business community for his dedication to creating a favorable environment for entrepreneurship and investment. This commitment has been demonstrated through the implementation of policies aimed at driving economic growth in Namibia.

Bisey /Uirab, the president of the Namibia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NCCI), commended Geingob for his unwavering support of the business community, attributing the economic development and prosperity of Namibia to his efforts. /Uirab also emphasized the importance of building a solid relationship between the government and the business community, which Geingob has actively promoted.

/Uirab highlighted Geingob’s active participation in key business forums, such as the Zambia-Namibia Business Forum in 2022 and the South Africa-Namibia Business Forum in 2023. These engagements have facilitated the establishment of bilateral business councils with Namibia’s neighboring countries.

In addition, /Uirab called for continued efforts to establish and operationalize business councils between Namibia and South Africa, and also between Namibia and Zambia. He also recognized the diligent implementation of issues championed by the NCCI and the government under Geingob’s leadership, such as the 24-hour operations at the Wenela border post and the ease of crossing the border between Namibia and Botswana with identity document cards.

Furthermore, Geingob’s dedication to traveling with Namibian business leaders on trade missions and opening up space for the business community to connect and network with the outside world has been acknowledged. This has led to fruitful and long-lasting partnerships and business opportunities.

Sven Thieme, the executive chairperson of the Ohlthaver & List Group, also praised Geingob’s vision of positioning Namibia as a global investment hub and a pioneer in green hydrogen technology. He emphasized that under Geingob’s leadership, Namibia achieved global recognition as an appealing investment destination and a pioneer in green hydrogen development.

Thieme expressed the commitment of the international business community to continuing Geingob’s vision for a thriving ‘Namibian House’, ensuring that his legacy lives on.

Conrad Dempsey, president of the Banker’s Association of Namibia, recognized Geingob’s vision of financial inclusion and expressed the banking sector’s commitment to realizing this vision. Dempsey highlighted the intensified efforts to ensure local stakeholders benefit from a robust banking sector and foster strong partnerships to stimulate business growth and empower individuals and families.
