Namibia’s just-concluded presidential and National Assembly elections have led to several political casualties, a new dawn for virgin parliamentarians, and some surprises.

One of the biggest losers at the polls was the Popular Democratic Movement (PDM) fronted by McHenry Venaani, which lost 11 seats and the pleasure of being the official opposition.

At the same time, the Rally for Democracy and Progress (RDP) and others will not be returning to parliament.
