ROAD Authority chief executive Conrad Lutombi says the authority has appointed a contractor to construct a temporary road between Windhoek and Rehoboth.

This comes after a section of the road closed due to a bridge that sustained damage from the recent heavy rains.

A contractor has been appointed to commence construction of the bypass immediately to facilitate flow and minimise disruptions.
