As a way for the government to cushion consumers from high fuel prices, the prices have been kept unchanged for January 2025.

The mines and energy ministry assessed the price of oil and saw it went down a little, but because the Namibian dollar was worth less compared to other currencies, and considering other costs like shipping and taxes still being high, the price of fuel in Namibia would not go down.
