Windhoek City Police officers have been deployed to guard a city council meeting, following the disruption of a previous council meeting.
City of Windhoek spokesperson Harold Akwenye on Thursday confirmed that new security measures have been put in place during monthly city council meetings in the council chambers.
Akwenye said this was due to a previous incident during which people stormed into the council chambers and threatened officials.
