A 10-year-old boy allegedly drowned in a pond at Iihanguti village in the Omusati region on Friday afternoon.
Regional police commander commissioner Ismael Basson says the incident occurred at around 15h30 while the boy was swimming with two other children aged eight and 10.
“When the deceased drowned, the other children ran to inform elders, who came to remove the body,” he says.
The body was later taken to a mortuary at Okahao.
