Namibia: 91% of eligible voters registered – Africa Links 24

The Electoral Commission of Namibia (ECN) has registered 1 467 604 eligible voters for the national and presidential elections slated for 27 November.

ECN chief electoral officer Peter Shaama says at the end of the general registration period, which ended on 1 August, they registered 91% of the over 1,7 million eligible voters.

Shaama says during the last four days of the registration period, from 29 July to 1 August, a total of 152 472 eligible voters were registered.
