Namibia: 237 deaths from road accidents in seven months – News

The Motor Vehicle Accident (MVA) Fund says at least 237 people have died in road accidents so far this year.

The deaths occurred in 1 720 road crashes that also resulted in 3 153 injuries.

This was announced in a media statement by MVA Fund spokesperson Jane Ikela on Monday.

She said the number of deaths increased by 9% this year, where 217 deaths were recorded from 1 January to 4 August last year.

Last year, the fund recorded 1 623 crashes, which increased by 6%, while 2 887 injuries increased…
