The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration, and Tunisians Abroad, Nabil Ammar, called yesterday on the heads of a number of diplomatic missions to continue initiatives and strengthen mobilization at the diplomatic and media levels in the accrediting countries and within regional and international organizations to highlight the relevance of Tunisia’s positions on various issues.
Chairing the periodic meeting via video conference, Ammar emphasized “the constants of Tunisian diplomacy, especially regarding Tunisia’s decision-making sovereignty, defense of national sovereignty, strengthening relations with partners, within the framework of mutual respect, non-interference, and equal treatment,” as stated in a communique published last night by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The meeting also focused on the work to be done with Tunisia’s partners to address global challenges, including migration, climate change, and the fight against its impacts.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs reiterated the importance of further ensuring the protection of the interests of Tunisians abroad, defending their rights, and considering appropriate solutions to facilitate their stay in foreign countries.
The periodic meeting with the heads of diplomatic and permanent missions was an opportunity to exchange the latest developments related to the activities of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, government action, as well as the development of bilateral relations and multilateral cooperation with Tunisia’s partners.
The meeting was attended by the State Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as well as officials from the department.
