The Omoluabi Coalition, a socio-political group within the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State, recently revealed that Olusola Oke stands out as the preferred choice among the more than 10 aspirants vying for the party’s ticket in the upcoming gubernatorial election in the state. This endorsement of Oke by the group signifies a significant development in the political landscape of Ondo State, as it signals a consensus among party members regarding the most suitable candidate for the position.

According to the Omoluabi Coalition, Oke emerged as the front-runner among the aspirants due to his experience, competence, and political acumen. His track record of service and dedication to the party’s ideals were cited as key factors that set him apart from the other contenders. The group’s endorsement of Oke reflects a strategic move to rally support behind a candidate who they believe embodies the values and principles of the APC, thereby increasing the party’s chances of success in the upcoming election.

In a separate political development, Julius Abure was re-elected as the National Chairman of the Labour Party for a second term despite facing opposition from the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC). Abure’s re-election was announced during the party’s convention, where delegates unanimously affirmed their support for his leadership. The Chairman of the National Convention and Deputy Governor of Abia State, Ikechukwu Emetu, declared Abure as the party’s National Chairman, signaling a vote of confidence in his leadership abilities.

The re-election of Abure demonstrates the party’s commitment to continuity and stability in its leadership structure, as well as a recognition of his past achievements and contributions to the party. Despite the opposition from the NLC, Abure’s leadership was endorsed by party members and delegates, reaffirming his position as the head of the Labour Party.

In a tragic incident in Bauchi State, the Police Command arrested 18-year-old Usman Ibrahim for allegedly stabbing his friend, Khalid Ibrahim, to death during an argument. The suspect reportedly used a sharp knife to commit the crime, leading to the tragic loss of life. On a lighter note, the Federal government has declared Friday, 29th March and Monday, 1st April as public holidays in observance of the Easter celebration.
