MV Rafiki, also known as MV NODL Express, the only public vessel operating on the Entebbe-Kyamuswa route in Kalangala District, has suspended services for three to four weeks following a mechanical fault.
The suspension took effect on Monday, August 31, 2026, according to Nation Oil Distributors Limited (NODL), which manages the vessel.
The company said the fault followed an incident on August 27 when the vessel encountered floating debris, including abandoned fishing nets and plastic waste, while sailing on Lake Victoria.
