Museveni directs Minister Kabanda to evaluate City Square real estate proposal

President Yoweri Museveni has directed the Minister for Kampala Capital City and Metropolitan Affairs, Minsa Kabanda, to evaluate a proposal by businessman Hajj Hassan Bulwadda to redevelop two acres of land at Kampala’s City Square into a modern real estate complex.

In a directive issued on August 30, 2026, President Museveni instructed Minister Kabanda to examine the feasibility of the project in consultation with the Kampala Capital City Authority and submit a report on the matter. The directive was also copied to Vice President Jessica Alupo and Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja.
