President Museveni recently awarded a medal to a boda boda cyclist named Abdul Katabaazi for his brave act of pursuing and capturing suspected killers of Buganda kingdom Ndiga (Sheep) clan head, Daniel Bbosa. The Nalubaale medal was given to him as a recognition of his bravery and contribution to the political development of the country. This award falls under Section 3 of the National Honors and Awards Act, 2001.
During a meeting at State House Entebbe, President Museveni praised Katabaazi for his heroic actions and compared him to a guerrilla fighter like himself. Katabaazi, along with other boda boda riders, chased and apprehended the suspected assassins as they tried to flee on a motorcycle. President Museveni assured support for these riders for their role in capturing the suspects.
During the meeting with President Museveni, Katabaazi expressed his gratitude for the recognition and medal bestowed upon him. He mentioned working with other cyclists in the pursuit and capture of the suspects. Eng Bbosa was laid to rest at Mbaale in Mpigi District, and the police confirmed the arrest of seven individuals in connection with the case. A reward of Shs10 million was offered for information leading to the arrest of Lujja Bbosa Tabula, who allegedly hired the killers.
