A chieftain of New Nigeria Peoples Party, (NNPP), Ambassador Olufemi Ajadi Oguntoyinbo has advised the National Assembly not to move the general elections to 2026.

Oguntoyinbo described the move as an attempt to mar the whole processes.

He made the declaration in a statement made available to DAILY POST on Thursday.

DAILY POST reports that the National Assembly had proposed November 2026 for the next general elections.

But, Oguntoyinbo insisted that such move will hamper adequate preparations for the election by various political parties, the intending candidates and the electoral umpire, the Independent National Electoral Commission, (INEC).
