The four teams in the top division will seek to avoid the drop and advance to the next round.

The matches between Raja Casablanca (RCA) and Olympic Safi (OCS) and Renaissance de Berkane (RSB), the defending champions, against AS FAR will be the highlights of the round of 16 of the Throne Cup of football (2022-2023 season).
Thus, Raja will face Safi on March 30, while the match between RSB and AS FAR has been postponed due to the commitment of the Berkane club in the African Football Confederation Cup. The quarter-finals will be played on a home and away format, with the first leg matches confirmed for Sunday, March 31, before the return match scheduled for Saturday, April 6. Renaissance Sportive de Berkane will travel to face Libyan club Abu Salim in a match that seems within reach of the Moroccan club starting at 7:00 pm.

Back to the Throne Cup. The focus will be on other interesting matches, including those between clubs from the Botola Pro D1, such as the matches between Maghreb Fes and Ittihad Tanger, Wydad Casablanca and Jeunesse Sportive Salmi, as well as Chabab Mohammedia against Youssoufia Berrechid.
Other exciting fixtures will keep national football lovers entertained, such as the phosphate derby between Olympique Khouribga and Difaa El Jadida, who play in the Botola Pro D2.
Furthermore, other teams have already punched their tickets to the next round. Moghreb Tetouan and Mouloudia Oujda qualified for the round of 16 by respectively beating Stade Marocain (Botola Pro D2) 4-0 and KAC Kenitra (amateurs) 5-4 on penalties (1-1).
Moghreb Tetouan’s goals were scored by Mouad Goullouss (2nd, 64th), Mohamed Redouani (4th), and Yassine Lamine (72nd).

The other Botola Pro D1 representative, Mouloudia Oujda, narrowly defeated KAC Kenitra on penalties with a score of 5-4 (1-1 in regular time and extra time). Mouloudia Oujda took the lead through Amine Souane (28th) before Omar Diarra equalized in the 33rd minute.
Chabab Fath Casablanca (amateurs) also secured qualification for the round of 16 by surprising Wydad Fes (Botola Pro D2) with a 2-0 victory at Stade Père Jégo. The goals for Fath Casablanca were scored by Walid Atik (5th) and Mouad Msik (62nd). At the Grand Stade in Agadir, Union Sportive Amal Tiznit (amateurs) reached the round of 16 of the Throne Cup by surprising their neighbors Adrar Souss (amateurs) with a 1-0 victory.

Another top-flight team had no trouble reaching their goal. Union Touarga (UTS) qualified for the round of 16 by defeating Association Qods Taza (amateurs) 2-0 at the SAR Prince Moulay El Hassan sports complex in Rabat. The Touarga team won thanks to goals from Souhail Zamrat (45th) and Amadou Dia Ndiaye (56th). Meanwhile, Olympique Dcheira (Botola Pro D2) secured their spot in the next round with a 3-1 victory at Stade El Massira in Safi against Ittihad Fkih Bensaleh (amateurs).
Finally, the Throne Cup would not be complete without surprises. FUS paid a heavy price by being eliminated by USM Oujda (Botola Pro D2). The Oujda team owed their salvation to the star of the match Ibrahim Omari, who scored a hat-trick (24th, 90+12th, 90+23rd). Ayoub Mouloua scored a consolation goal for his team in the 42nd minute.
