The Morocco U23 football team defeated Wales 2-0 in a friendly match played on Tuesday in Antalya, Turkey, as part of their preparation for the men’s football tournament at the Olympics scheduled for next summer in Paris.
The goals for Morocco’s victory were scored by Hamza Igamane, who scored a brace in the 6th and 67th minutes. The Morocco U23 team had previously lost 1-0 to Ukraine in a friendly match last Friday in Antalya. Morocco will be playing in Group B with Argentina, Ukraine, and the 3rd-place team from the AFC U23 Championship, which is scheduled to take place in early May, during the Olympic men’s football tournament from July 24 to August 9.
The Atlas Lions secured their spot in the Paris 2024 Olympics by qualifying for the final of the Africa Cup of Nations (CAN-U23), which they won at home.
