The majority will support the candidacy of Rachid Talbi Alami for the presidency of the Chamber of Representatives for the second half of the current legislature.

Cohesion: The presidency of the government majority has praised the “very honorable” mid-term assessment of the government’s action, which the head of government intends to present, at his initiative, to Parliament after the opening of the April session, in accordance with Article 101 of the Constitution.

The Instance of the presidency of the government majority met last Thursday under the chairmanship of Aziz Akhannouch, president of the National Rally of Independents (RNI), Fatima Ezzahra El Mansouri, coordinator of the collective leadership of the Authenticity and Modernity Party (PAM) alongside Mohamed Mehdi Bensaid and Salaheddine Aboughali, and Nizar Baraka, Secretary General of the Istiqlal Party (PI). The instance intends to launch a public debate on this assessment, both within the parliamentary institution and in the media and public space in general.

The same source considers this a positive assessment that reflects the government’s firm political will to implement economic reforms and strengthen the foundations of the social state, as well as to respect the commitments made within the government program. The Instance also welcomed the “spirit of cohesion and cooperation that characterizes the government’s relations with the parliamentary majority groups, as well as the major roles played by these groups in legislation, controlling government action and parliamentary diplomacy,” the same source notes, emphasizing the need to further strengthen solidarity, mutual cooperation within a framework of complementarity, close coordination, and listening, as well as interaction with the various components of the opposition.

Furthermore, it expressed its willingness to interact with the bills presented by parliamentary groups, adding that it has decided to establish a mechanism to examine and evaluate said proposals and to interact with those that are consistent with the government’s choices and orientations.

The presidency of the government majority also reaffirmed the three parties’ willingness to continue their coordination, joint action, and cooperation in coalitions managing local, provincial, and regional authorities, while ensuring the success of this experience, given the significant opportunities it offers for the implementation of public policies, in accordance with the policy of proximity and with the required efficiency and effectiveness.

After welcoming the continuation of social dialogue between the government and the most representative trade unions, the Instance expressed the hope that this dialogue would be fruitful, reiterating its support for the major reform projects that the government intends to launch soon on institutional, legal, and social levels, in order to ensure good governance, the sustainability of reforms, and social stability.

The Instance also expressed its support for the candidacy of Rachid Talbi Alami for the presidency of the Chamber of Representatives for the second half of the current legislature.

This meeting, attended by Rachid Talbi Alami, president of the Chamber of Representatives and member of the Political Bureau of the RNI, and Abdeljabbar Rachidi, member of the Executive Committee of the PI and president of the preparatory commission of the 18th party congress, focused on the political and economic situation in Morocco, the next agenda of the action of the presidency of the government majority, and the means to improve and strengthen cooperation between the government and all components of the parliamentary majority in legislation and government action control.

The meeting was also an opportunity to discuss the major achievements made in the framework of the major reform projects carried out under the enlightened leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, in all areas, as well as the future challenges of Morocco.
