Morocco: The IC organizes the Cervantina Week 2024 – Africa Links 24

The Cervantes Institute of Casablanca is celebrating Cervantine Week 2024 with various activities focusing on the world of books and culture in honor of International Book Day, celebrated on April 23. The events will take place between April 22 and 26.

In this context, Spanish-speaking writer Mohamed El Morabet will talk about his novel “El invierno de los jilgueros”. In addition, Dr. Guillermo de Haro Rodríguez has been invited to participate in a conference entitled “Have we approached singularity? Past to explore the evolution of artificial intelligence and its imminent impact on our society.”

Furthermore, the Hispanic Studies department of the Faculty of Arts at Ain Chock in Casablanca is organizing a Literary Creation competition in Spanish, in the form of short stories and poetry. And for lovers of literary creation, journalist and fiction writer Lauren Schenkman will lead a workshop on creative writing in Spanish, providing students of all levels with an introduction on how to write a story from their imagination.
