The Head of Government, Aziz Akhannouch, presided over the second meeting of the National Commission for Digital Development on Wednesday in Rabat.

During this meeting, the Minister delegate in charge of Digital Transition and Administrative Reform, Ghita Mezzour, presented an updated presentation on “general guidelines for digital development – Morocco digital 2030” following meetings organized with members of the commission to collect their proposals and opinions to contribute to the enrichment of the national strategy for digital development, as indicated in a statement from the Prime Minister’s office.

This strategy aims to allow citizens to benefit equally from digital services, ensuring the implementation of best practices and supporting the public administration in its digital transition, the same source emphasized. It also aims to position the Kingdom as a producer of digital solutions, create employment opportunities through attracting investments, and support young talents in the digital field.

In this regard, Mr. Akhannouch stated that the government is focusing on strengthening the digitalization of the public administration and developing the digital economy, in line with Royal Directives and in accordance with the government program’s commitments.

He emphasized the government’s commitment to efficiently implementing the digital transition process, given its important role in improving the quality of public services, creating wealth, and promoting economic development.

This meeting served as a reminder of the two fundamental axes of the “general guidelines for digital development – Morocco digital 2030”, particularly the digitalization of public services aimed at accelerating the digitization of public services while ensuring their quality through a user-centered methodology, whether for citizens or businesses.

It also involves injecting new momentum into the digital economy to develop Moroccan digital solutions, create value, and jobs. This pillar is structured around three main axes: developing the offshoring sector, building an ecosystem dedicated to developing businesses, and supporting the digitalization of small and medium-sized enterprises.

Members of the government, as well as members of the commission, representatives from the public and private sectors, professional bodies, and experts participated in the works of this second meeting.
