Belgian Marc Brys, the new coach of the Cameroon national football team, signed a two-and-a-half-year renewable contract on Monday in Yaoundé.
This contract was co-signed by the new coach of the Indomitable Lions and the Minister of Sports and Physical Education, Narcisse Mouelle Kombi.
This happened in the absence of the president of the Cameroonian Football Federation, Samuel Eto’o Fils. He opposes the designation of the Belgian technician by the Minister of Sports and Physical Education, and opposes his choice.
Appointed on April 2nd as the head of the national football team, Marc Brys replaces Cameroonian Rigobert Song in this position. His assistants are Cameroonian François Omam Biyick and Ashu Cyprian Bessong.
Now established, the new technical staff of the Indomitable Lions has the challenge of “qualifying for and ensuring an honorable participation” of Cameroon in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, affirmed the Minister of Sports.
Marc Brys is also expected to qualify Cameroon for the next 2026 World Cup, which will be held in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
