In line with its commitment to the economic development of all regions of Morocco and in line with its values of Proximity and Citizenship, Banque Populaire inaugurated its new branch in El Guerguerat on Friday, March 22, 2024.

The ceremony was attended by Mr. Ali Khalil, Wali of the Dakhla-Oued Eddahab region, Abderrahaman EL Jaouhari, Governor of Aousserd province, Mohamed Karim MOUNIR, President of the BCP group, Mrs. Lalla Hajja JOUMANI, President of the Supervisory Board of Banque Populaire de Laâyoune, Abdenaceur BOUGTIB, President of the Management Board of Banque Populaire de Laâyoune, as well as local community leaders from the province and several elected officials.

The inauguration of this new branch sends a strong signal of the BCP group’s commitment to the economic and social development of the Southern Provinces. The Group is strengthening its contribution to boosting economic activity in the Dakhla-Oued Eddahab region, which has rich economic potential and benefits from significant investments in key sectors such as maritime fishing, tourism, and renewable energies. This inauguration also marks an important step in Banque Populaire’s decentralization strategy, one of its primary missions being to promote financial inclusion by facilitating access to banking services for all, in all regions of the Kingdom.

By offering a comprehensive range of banking services in El Guerguerat, the Bank is perfectly fulfilling its role as a leading financial partner for local communities, businesses operating in the region, travelers crossing the Morocco-Mauritania border, and various regional development projects.
