The amount of Zakat Al Fitr for the year 1445H/2024 is set at 20 dirhams per person, announced the Council of Scholars.
The Council specifies in a statement that Zakat consists of giving a prophetic measure (Saâ nabaoui) equivalent to 4 amdâd per person based on the essential consumption of the population, which is the equivalent of 2.5 kg of cereals or flour, affirming that it is possible to pay Zakat Al Fitr two to three days before Eid as well as to give it in the form of money.
However, it is mentioned from the same source that anyone can pay a higher amount or quantity if they are able to.
Zakat Al Fitr, reminds the Council, is a mandatory charity at the end of each month of Ramadan, instituted by the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon Him, in order to purify the fasting individuals from inappropriate and indecent speech and to feed the most deprived in order to come closer to Allah.
