The administration of the local prison Khouribga 2 denied on Friday the allegations that 90 inmates had suffered from food poisoning without being transferred to a hospital.
In a statement in response to the allegations published on social media pages, the administration stated that “eight prisoners had suffered from digestive problems due to overeating, presenting minor symptoms such as diarrhea, vomiting, and abdominal pain.”
The affected inmates received necessary care at the establishment’s clinic and their health condition does not raise any concerns, the same source assured.
In this regard, the local prison administration condemns the use of lies and dramatization by certain parties, as it may cause undue worry for the families of the inmates of the facility, and reserves the right to take legal action against those spreading such rumors aiming to damage the image of the establishment.
