The joint Morocco-Portugal-Spain bid for the organization of the 2030 World Cup aims to offer the world the best edition of football in history, stated the president of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF), Fouzi Lekjaa, in Lisbon on Tuesday.
“Our objective is to organize an exceptional event encompassing all aspects of sports, combined with human and civilizational dimensions,” highlighted Mr. Lekjaa during the presentation ceremony of the slogan “YallaVamos 2030” and the visual identity of the joint candidacy for the 2030 World Cup.
The president of the FRMF noted that this football event draws its strength not only from being organized by three countries and two continents, but also from its civilizational aspect linking the two shores of the Mediterranean, through their history and the various civilizations that have succeeded in the region.
Stating that the three countries have all the logistical means and resources to organize the World Cup under the best conditions, the president of the FRMF emphasized that what will distinguish this joint organization of the World Cup the most is the human dimension that characterizes the two shores of the Mediterranean basin.
He insisted, in this context, on the need to prioritize the civilizational aspects that have characterized this region and to allow the rising generations and youth of the Mediterranean and the world to learn lessons from this civilization and build the necessary foundations to strengthen human dimensions in the future.
According to Mr. Lekjaa, the three countries aim to strengthen these civilizational, cultural, and human dimensions that have united them in the past and currently unite them, highlighting that the passion of the Moroccan, Spanish, and Portuguese peoples for this sport expressed at all continental and global sporting events confirms the importance of the football dimension and reinforces the relationships between the three countries and their peoples.
The president of the Portuguese Football Federation, Fernando Gomes, echoed similar sentiments, stating that this joint organization of the 2030 World Cup aspires to forever engrave this edition in people’s minds.
The 2030 World Cup will mark history not only as the best of all time, but also by setting new standards for the future of football, he said, noting that future generations will long remember this edition.
“Teams and fans will have a unique experience in Morocco, Portugal, and Spain. Our culture, hospitality, modern infrastructure, and innovative organizational forms will make this World Cup an exceptional event,” he concluded.
