According to data from EastFrui t, Morocco significantly increased its exports of frozen strawberries to Australia by 84% between 2019 and 2023, reaching 850 tonnes. This success in the Australian market demonstrates, according to the specialized site, the ability of Moroccan exporters to compete with local producers as well as with other competitors such as China and Chile.

Egypt, another major player in the region, also intensified its exports to Australia, tripling its numbers to reach 530 tonnes between 2019 and 2023, earning it fifth place in the ranking of Australian imports.

Meanwhile, Chile saw its market share decrease, while China maintains its position as a leader despite a drop in its exports. Belgium also made a remarkable breakthrough by ranking third in 2023, showing significant growth in its exports.

Although Australia is not a major player in global imports of frozen strawberries, it remains a promising market, regularly acquiring between 5,000 and 6,000 tonnes of frozen strawberries each year. In 2023, the country imported a total of 5,500 tonnes, thus offering opportunities to exporters worldwide, including Morocco.
