Moroccan surfer Ramzi Boukhiam has managed to secure his ticket for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games during his participation in the “ISA World Surfing Games”, which took place until March 3 in Puerto Rico.
This is a great achievement for the efforts made by Ramzi Boukhiam. This is the Moroccan surfer’s second consecutive qualification for the Olympic Games after Tokyo 2020. According to the Royal Moroccan Surfing and Bodyboard Federation, this qualification for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games “marks a historic moment for Moroccan surfing”. The qualification of Ramzi Boukhiam “not only reflects his exceptional talent and dedication to the sport, but also the evolution of Moroccan surfing as an Olympic discipline,” the Federation is pleased to announce. It adds that this qualification “will help inspire a new generation of surfers in the country and beyond”.
Ramzi Boukhiam, 30 years old, recently made his return to the world surfing scene to compete in the World Surf League Championship Tour 2024 (WCT 2024) which brings together the world’s elite professional surfers. The Moroccan surfer had qualified after the 2022 Challenger Series (CS) season, but an injury at the beginning of 2023 prevented him from participating in the Championship Tour (CT).
