Her Royal Highness Princess Lalla Asmae and the First Lady of Côte d’Ivoire, Mrs. Dominique Ouattara, launched, on Wednesday at the maternity ward of the Moulay Youssef Hospital Center, the neonatal hearing screening program in the Rabat-Salé-Kénitra region.
This continent-wide program aims to diagnose hearing problems in newborns early, provide them with treatment to regain hearing through cochlear implants and speech therapy, as well as facilitate the exchange of experiences and expertise between Moroccan doctors and their colleagues from brotherly and friendly African countries.
On this occasion, Her Royal Highness Princess Lalla Asmae and Mrs. Dominique Ouattara visited African children who had undergone surgery the day before, before attending a speech therapy class and a dissection class given to African ENT doctors.
Subsequently, Her Royal Highness Princess Lalla Asmae and the First Lady of Côte d’Ivoire presided over the signing ceremony of three agreements between the Lalla Asmae Foundation, Royal Air Maroc, Bank of Africa, and the Mohammed VI Foundation for Science and Health.
The first agreement was signed by the director of the Lalla Asmae Foundation, Mr. El Abbes Bouhlal, and the CEO of Royal Air Maroc, Mr. Abdelhamid Addou, the second by Mr. Bouhlal and the CEO of Bank of Africa group, Mr. Amine Bouabid, and the third agreement by Mr. Bouhlal and the Deputy Director of the Mohammed VI Foundation for Science and Health, Mr. Younes Bjijou.
At the end of this ceremony, Her Royal Highness Princess Lalla Asmae and Mrs. Dominique Ouattara were greeted by representatives of Lions International in Africa, including Dr. Manoj Shah, Vice-President of Lions International and Africa Representative, Mr. Ahmed Salem, International Director Constitutional Zone Africa of Lions International, and Mr. Hasting Chiti, Past International Director Constitutional Zone Africa of Lions International.
Upon their arrival at the Moulay Youssef Hospital Center, Her Royal Highness Princess Lalla Asmae and Mrs. Dominique Ouattara reviewed a section of the Auxiliary Forces who were paying their respects before being greeted by the Minister of Health and Social Protection, Mr. Khalid Ait Taleb, the Minister of Solidarity, Social Integration and Family, Mrs. Aawatif Hayar, and the Minister of Youth, Culture, and Communication, Mr. Mohamed Mehdi Bensaid.
Her Royal Highness Princess Lalla Asmae and Mrs. Dominique Ouattara were also greeted by the Ambassador of the Republic of Benin to Morocco, Mr. Serge Dagnon, the Ambassador of the Republic of Niger to Morocco, Mr. Salissou Ada, the Ambassador of the Republic of Senegal to Morocco, Mrs. Seynabou Dial, the Ambassador of the Republic of Guinea-Conakry to Morocco, Mr. Namory Traoré, the Chargé d’Affaires of the Republic of Togo to Morocco, Mr. Messan Amakoé Klutse, the Chargé d’Affaires of the Republic of Mali to Morocco, Mr. Tigana Bambo, the Chargé d’Affaires of the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire to Morocco, Mr. Yves Tadet, the Ambassador of Morocco to Côte d’Ivoire, Mr. Abdelmalek Kettani, and the Ambassador, Director General of the Moroccan Agency for International Cooperation, Mr. Mohamed Methqal.
