“Germany, as the leading economic power in Europe, needs partners, and the Kingdom, which offers great potential for cooperation, can meet Germany’s energy needs, especially with the use of clean electricity or green hydrogen,” said Mr. Ikken to MAP on the sidelines of the ‘Future of SMEs Day’, organized by the Federal Association of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises “Der Mittelstand BVMW”.
Noting that SMEs need low-cost and decarbonized energy to optimize their competitiveness, the expert highlighted that Morocco “is full of enormous opportunities and significant advantages in the renewable energy sector that can meet various energy needs”.
Mr. Ikken particularly emphasized the ‘Moroccan offer’ for the development of the green hydrogen sector, noting that the circular issued this week by the Head of Government, Aziz Akhannouch, in compliance with Royal Directives, constitutes an operational and incentive offer covering the entire value chain of the green hydrogen sector.
According to him, the “Moroccan Offer”, which is “clear and transparent”, will notably enable the implementation of projects and attract investments in the energy sector.
Several topics were on the agenda of this meeting, including energy, green hydrogen, electric mobility, information sciences, and artificial intelligence.
