A call for tenders has just been launched
The Agency for the development of the Bouregreg valley (Bouregreg Cultures) has launched a call for tenders for the provision of cleaning and maintenance services for the Grand Theatre of Rabat.
After recently launching a call for tenders for the operation of stage systems, the Agency for the development of the Bouregreg valley (Bouregreg Cultures) is now looking for service providers for the cleaning and maintenance, both interior and exterior, of the Grand Theatre of Rabat. In detail, the total amount of this contract is estimated, according to the document, at over 2.5 million dirhams. More specifically, the cleaning and maintenance services of the Grand Theatre of Rabat consist of cleaning, tidiness, and perfect maintenance of the different spaces, the main auditorium, the small auditorium, special rooms (media rooms, artist resting rooms, boutique, restaurant, VIP lounge…). The washing of the building’s outer shell/envelope, the cleaning of glass facades, the treatment of waste from activities (sorting and selective collection)…
As a reminder, the Grand Theatre of Rabat, construction of which started in 2010, is located 160 meters east of the Hassan II Bridge, 500 meters east of the Mohammed V Mausoleum and Hassan Tower. It offers a breathtaking view of the Oudayas kasbah and the Bouregreg valley. It covers a total area of 7 hectares. Indeed, the building is located in a landscaped park that includes planted spaces, a large forecourt, pedestrian walkways, lawns, as well as a drop-off area and green spaces covering the periphery of the site, composed of palm trees, various trees, and grassed areas. “On the Southeast to Southwest side, the Grand Theatre of Rabat will be bordered by green spaces, interspersed with pedestrian walkways, and a circular asphalt road around a massif (garden and drop-off area) that serves a small parking area. The perimeter from the Northeast to the Northwest of the Grand Theatre of Rabat is bordered by a concrete road serving as a fire-fighting lane, delivery and VIP access. It also serves a small parking area for VIP vehicles,” reads the document.
According to the same source, the Grand Theatre is accessible to external rescue services through the North and South facades, and at certain levels through the terraces of the East and West facades. The surroundings of the Grand Theatre also include three types of green spaces around the building: green spaces not accessible to pedestrians, green spaces accessible to pedestrians, and green spaces reserved for vehicle parking. It also includes a performance hall with approximately 1,821 seats and an outdoor amphitheater with a capacity of 7,000 people. It also contains a foyer and an auditorium. The latter draws its inspiration from the omnipresent decorative elements of medieval Islamic architecture.
It can accommodate a wide range of performances such as operas, balls, musicals, and high-quality symphonic concerts. The design includes adjustable acoustic systems, a motorized stage platform and elevators, as well as sophisticated artistic sound and lighting systems. The Grand Theatre also features a restaurant, an outdoor amphitheater, sales spaces, technical support spaces, and special spaces.
