One of the big names in the electronic gaming industry
Japanese video game designer and creator Takaya Imamura will be the guest of honor at the first edition of the Moroccan Electronic Gaming Expo (Morocco Gaming Expo), which will take place from May 24 to 26 in Rabat, announced the Ministry of Youth, Culture, and Communication. Born in 1966, the “legendary” designer Takaya Imamura is one of the big names in the electronic gaming and entertainment company Nintendo, the ministry stated.
For over 30 years, Imamura has imagined, drawn, and created dozens of well-known characters like the heroes of the “F-Zero” and “Star Fox” series, and he also designed the universe and ambiance of the famous game “The Legend Of Zelda Majora’s Mask.” The Moroccan Electronic Gaming Expo 2024, the first of its kind in Morocco, presents an opportunity for meetings and exchanges between international companies in the sector, the same source stated. It also aims to establish national and international partnerships and participate in training sessions in all areas related to electronic gaming.
The Expo aims to strengthen and promote the electronic gaming industry in Morocco, highlighting the “Rabat Gaming City” project, which aims to create a cluster of national and foreign companies, to become a source of new job creation and a center of cultural and social creativity in the capital, and to establish itself as one of the biggest hubs in the electronic gaming sector in Africa and the Middle East and North Africa region.
