The Moroccan delegation at this fair is led by Fatim-Zahra Ammor who, on the sidelines of the event, held several working meetings with Italian officials to promote Moroccan tourism and craftsmanship.

Morocco is strongly present at the Salon del Mobile which continues until April 21 in Milan. An important delegation, led by Fatim-Zahra Ammor, Minister of Tourism, Handicrafts, and the Social and Solidarity Economy, is participating in this design event for the second consecutive time. “The Salon del Mobile in Milan is a very selective and prestigious event, known as the global summit of design and furniture. We are delighted to showcase Moroccan craftsmanship which is of great interest,” the Minister said. She continued, “Our goal through this participation is to provide selected exhibitors access to reputable distributors and buyers present at the fair, so that they can showcase their work and establish commercial partnerships.” In addition to participating in this event, Fatim-Zahra Ammor, accompanied by Tarik Sadik, Director General of the House of Crafts, held several working meetings, including with Pierluigi Coccini, CEO of the luxury brand La Rinascente, and Alberto Cavalli, Executive Director of the Michelangelo Foundation, with which a memorandum of understanding was signed during the 7th edition of the National Crafts Fair. The discussions focused on creating significant training opportunities for young Moroccan artisans and the desire to participate in the next edition of the Dopia Firma program, which highlights co-creations between artisans and contemporary designers.

Similarly, a working meeting took place between the Minister and Marco Sabetta, CEO of Salone del Mobile Milano. The aim is to further strengthen the presence of Moroccan craftsmanship and take advantage of future editions of the fair. Ms. Ammor also met with her Italian counterpart Daniela Santachè, Minister of Tourism, to explore collaboration opportunities between Morocco and Italy in the tourism sector. It should be noted that for this 2024 edition, ten Moroccan brands specializing in furniture, decoration, carpets, and flooring are exhibiting in a specially arranged 200 square meter pavilion. Among the participants are Hicham Lahlou Design, Mad in Bled, les Dix Doigts, Noun Design, RA Luxury Design, Soufiane Zarib, Tribaliste, Porte d’Or, Kraft Sol, and Salima Filali Creations.
