In 2022, Morocco provided Cameroon with 1.4% of the total value of its imports, which amounts to 70.5 billion CFA francs (109 million euros), according to a report recently published by the National Institute of Statistics (INS).

Although Cameroonian imports come from a total of 190 countries, their top ten suppliers (which are not African) account for 56% of the total imports, as stated by the same source.

In terms of volume, the Kingdom delivered 319,200 tons of goods, tripling its exports to Cameroon compared to the previous year. “Morocco, which surpassed Equatorial Guinea (Cameroon’s top African supplier in 2021), now leads ahead of Ivory Coast (110,000 tons for 60.6 billion CFA francs) and Gabon (63,100 tons for a value of 58 billion CFA francs),” specified INS.

Despite this significant growth in volumes exported by Morocco, there is still a significant potential for development.

China remains the top global supplier to the country, even though it has lost 1.2 percentage points. With 903,000 tons of goods delivered and a turnover of 755.8 billion CFA francs, China alone represents 15.8% of Cameroon’s total imports in value.
