The first cinema in the province of Assa-Zag and the Guelmim-Oued Noun region was recently inaugurated in the city of Zag. With a capacity of 140 seats, this space is part of the national project to open 150 cinemas, launched by the Ministry of Youth, Culture, and Communication.
With the creation of this cinema, film lovers in Zag (80 km from Assa) and the region will be able to enjoy various national and foreign film productions. In addition to this cinema equipped with the latest film projection technologies, 6 more cinemas will be opened in the Guelmim-Oud Noun region during this year. Minister of Youth, Culture, and Communication, Mohamed Mehdi Bensaid, recently presided over the opening ceremony of 50 cinemas in Tamesna, as part of the first phase of the project to open 150 cinemas in the 12 regions of the Kingdom.
This project aims to strengthen the cultural and film industry sector by providing the necessary infrastructure for artists, producers, and directors to showcase and promote their cinematic works nationally, as well as creating a cultural and artistic dynamic in the different cities and regions of the Kingdom.
