This meeting, which is part of the Comorian official’s working visit to Morocco from April 16 to 18, was an opportunity for the two ministers to discuss ways to strengthen the strategic, friendly, and cooperative relationship between the two countries, in order to establish it as a model partnership to address together the challenges related to security and peace, especially in Africa, according to a statement from the Ministry of the Interior.
This meeting concluded with the signing of a Cooperation Agreement on civil protection. This agreement specifically targets the prevention and management of major risks that pose a serious threat to the security of individuals, property, and the environment.
This cooperation instrument also aims at training experts in the field of forecasting, prevention, and rescue for the personnel of Civil Protection bodies, as well as the development of training programs and the exchange of information and scientific and technological studies.
Furthermore, this agreement involves mutual assistance in technical expertise and reinforcement of rescue resources between the Kingdom of Morocco and the Union of Comoros in the event of disasters or major accidents.
